KATE CROSSLEY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kate (Kitty) Crossley. She passed away February 1, 2002 at Concordia Hospital. Kate was predeceased by her husband Wilfred and her son Ronald. There will be an empty place in the heart of her daughter Deloris Chartier and Tom, whom she has lived with for the past 14 years after leaving The Pas, MB. We have been blessed to have had her with us and to be a part of the grandchildren and great-grandchildrens lives whom she adored. Five grandchildren, Gisele (Chartier) Terry MacDonald, Carey Chartier (Lisa), Derrick Chartier (Tonya Moreton) of Winnipeg, Shane Crossley (Vicki) and Shawna (Crossley) (Brad Libbrecht) of The Pas; 12 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brendan, Chantal MacDonald, Blake, Brett, Brandi Chartier, Trinity Chartier of Winnipeg, Blake and Austin Crossley, Shandi, Brady and Kierra Libbrecht of The Pas; daughter-in-law Alberta Crossley of The Pas; and son-in-law Marcel Chartier of Winnipeg. Kate was born on September 13, 1913 in New Castle, England. Kitty came to Canada in 1936. As a new bride she moved right to the Arctic Circle as her husband Wilf was with the Hudson Bay Company. Four years later their first child was born - Deloris in Aklavick in the North West Territories, Ronnie two years later. She cherished her years in the North. Kitty will be remembered by all who knew her for her love and pride of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love of life, her generosity and a strong will to have her opinion known. Nanny will be missed but never forgotten. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Bernadette Catholic Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves, Rev. Fr. Fred Olds, and Rev. Fr. Robb McDougall concelebrating. Special thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses at the Concordia Hospital that gave Mom so much care. Dr. A.W. Alvi who was Moms physician from the time she moved to Winnipeg treated her with such compassion and never gave up trying to assist and comfort her, and to Dr. Alex Vacjner who came late at night to consult and advise with such care.
