Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATHILDA LAUTSCH Change in Time of Service MATHILDA LAUTSCH (nee Wittmann) It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of their beloved Mother, Omi, Grand Omi, Mathilda Lautsch, aged 96, on Sunday, February 3, 2002 at the Bethania Personal Care Home. Mama will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Anna Kajpust, Freda Van Niekerk, Chris Jacob (Rudy) nine grandchildren, Jim (Karen), Rolfe (Melissa), Terri, Tony(Bonnie), Nancy, Tim, Jeremy (Andrea), Abi, Christopher (Tracie) and 12 great-grandchildren. Mama was predeceased by her parents, Johan and Victoria Wittmann; sons, Alfred and Lepold; husband Josef in 1961; five brothers; and one sister. Mathilda was born on June 20, 1905 in Munchenthal, Austria. She married Josef Lautsch in 1922 and lived in Lvov till 1940. In 1941 they moved to Lodz, in 1945 they moved to Germany and in 1948 they immigrated to Canada. They settled in Winnipeg and spent all their years here. Mama was a member of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, belonged to the CWL and was instrumental in helping to start the Golden Age Club. She loved to cook, bake, do crafts, garden and spend time with her family. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Mountain and Andrews. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim and Rolfe Kajpust, Ted and Tony Van Niekerk, Rudy, Tim, Jeremy and Christopher Jacob and Bill Wittman. Many thanks to Bethania staff for their kindness to our Mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Josephs Church. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
