EWALD HOPP It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ewald Hopp. He passed on from this world on February 8, 2002 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, MB. There will be an empty place in the hearts of his sisters, Pauline Scherloski, Clara Goritz and Elma Malinak (Mike Malinak), many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends whom he kept in touch with through correspondence. His parents August Hopp and Helena Hopp, nee Remus and two sisters, Elsie Kowalke and Lily Klippenstein, predeceased Ewald. Ewald was born February 26, 1912 in Guernsey, SK where he grew up, and was Baptized into the family of God on March 28, 1912. Then lived for many years in Langenburg, SK with his parents. Thereafter he lived with his sister Clara for 14 years before moving to East Gate Lodge in Beausejour where he lived another 14 years. Ewald has been an inspiration to all of us with his courage and always cheerful way of looking at life. He had many hurdles to overcome, which he did with the help of God and was always very independent. He loved playing cards and visiting with friends and relatives. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church Beausejour, with Vicar Harold Borchardt presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB, R0E 0C0. Special thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses at East Gate Lodge.
