MARGARET ELIZABETH GIBSON (nee ANDERSON) Peacefully, on Saturday, February 9, 2002, Margaret Gibson passed away at Heritage Lodge. Margaret was born in Carnduff, SK on October 7, 1910. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, C.H. "Gibby" Gibson in 1999. She will be sadly missed by her son Jim (Pat) Gibson, Crystal, Holly, and Cam of Kenora, ON; daughter Karol (Jim) Swanky, Leanne and Tanis of Edmonton, AB; daughter Sandra (Richard) Mercier of Foremost, AB; sister Nellie Attersley of Oshawa, ON; and great-grandchildren, Jaime, Taylor, Mason, Scottie, Sam, and Matthew. Mother graduated nursing in Brandon, MB during which time she was an active and avid tennis player. She married in 1938 and moved to Winnipeg. She was always ready for a game of cards, bowled for many years, and was active in the United Church, and did volunteer work at the hospital and Red Cross. She and Father travelled extensively and were regular faces at the Assiniboine Downs since the 1940s. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Heritage Lodge for their loving care and to Marge Mercier for the many visits and kind acts. Appreciation goes especially to Pat Gibson who was more of a daughter than a daughter-in-law. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
