NANCY STEWART (nee SOLILO) May 22, 1919 - February 9, 2002 Surrounded by her family, Nancy passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Ellen (Wallis) Steiner of Winnipeg, Beverley (John) Tytgat of Edmonton; grand-children, Robyn (Roger) Lyon of Thousand Oaks, CA, Karen (Kris) Hutton of Oceanside, CA, Cameron (Randeen) Tytgat of Edmonton and Candice (Joel) Semeniuk of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Seth and Erik Lyon, Sebastian Hutton, Jenna and Ethan Tytgat and Joshua Semeniuk; sister Mary Gerylo of Oakville, ON; brothers, John (Dorothy) Solilo of Regina, and Steve (Brenda) Solilo of Winnipeg; also nieces and nephews, cousins and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Anne Solilo. Born and raised in North Winnipeg she graduated from Isaac Newton High School. She worked in the garment industry for Canadian Sportswear, BMC Sportswear and Modernheadwear. She was so proud of all of her family and pets and loved to spend time at her cottage at White Lake rowing her boat, fishing and picking blueberries. She enjoyed sewing, needle work and all kinds of crafts and has left behind for all of us to treasure, many of her beautiful creations. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo and going on sight-seeing tours with all of her friends at 385 Carlton St. The family are grateful for and would like to thank the home care workers and the staff of the Health Sciences Centre for all their kindness and caring. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Private interment will take place at a later date.
