ROY HENDERSON CAMPBELL Peacefully, on February 15, 2002, at Rosewood Lodge, with his family at his side, Roy Campbell passed away at the age of 87 years. Roy was predeceased by his first wife, Mary in 1963; his second wife Eva in 1997; seven brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law Ray Mitchell. Remembered by his children, Bill (Clara), Don, Ruth (John) Williams, Alice (Henry) Meier, Bob (Jo-Ann) 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one sister Alice Davis of Guelph, ON; his extended family, Elaine (Gordon) Gevoga and Beryl Mitchell and their families. Roy was born in Fergus, ON, on August 20, 1914. He came to Manitoba in 1934, working on a farm in Brunkild where he met and married our mother Mary Habinski. He later moved to Stony Mountain and then to Stonewall where he farmed with mom until her passing in 1963. Later he met and married Eva Mitchell and continued to farm in Stonewall until 1970 when he moved to Boissevain, farming another three years before moving to Portage. Then he moved to Winnipeg for several years and in 1996 he moved to Stonewall where he resided until he passed away. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Mary Best will officiate with a private family interment to follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jason Campbell and Greg Campbell, Tom and Rob Mollard, Jeff Meier and Dale Gevoga. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, or a charity of ones choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
