GLORIA CAROL PLESKACH On Thursday, February 14, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer we bid farewell for now to our beloved wife and mother Gloria Carol Pleskach. Carol was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at the Beausejour District Hospital. Carol was born December 26, 1937 in Winnipeg. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph; son Bernie (Jil) daughter Cathy; grandchildren Veronica, Eli, Elektra and Iggy; as well as sister Sonia Turner (Ron) brother Bud Korne (Jean) sister Rose-Adele Korne; and her foster brothers, Wally Roth, Joseph Roth (Joanne) and her foster sister Virginia Roth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Louise Korne; foster parents, Michael and Ann Roth; and her brother John Korne. Carol was well known in the community for her caring nature. She spent time working with youth in 4H and then moved on to a career in home care. She was an integral part of the St. Marys CWL for 40 years. She was best known for her love of flowers and gardening and she generously shared her many talents with the community whenever asked. We would like to thank all of the nurses and caregivers at the Beausejour Hospital, the hospital volunteers, home care workers, and friends for helping make this time bearable. Prayers will be said on Sunday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, also from the church, at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Owen Steeves officiating. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Moroz, Gordon Korne, Dennis Korne, Debbie Stockwell, Kim Turner and Stephen Pleskach.
