MARY CAREY (MACHRAY) Born October 6, 1905, died peacefully February 7, 2002. Predeceased by her husband Ralph and sister Jean, she is survived by her four daughters, Carol (Dave), Jocelyn (John), Susan and Linda; Averil and Ian; 14 grand-children, 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ruth and Christine; and brother Robert. Mary was born in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Latin. Mary and Ralph moved to Vancouver in 1950 where she was active in the University Womens Club and St. Marys Church. Many people will remember the warm welcome extended by Mary over 47 years at her home on West 48th Avenue. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Arbutus Manor, 2125 Eddington Dr., Vancouver, with Rev. John Bethel officiating. If desired, contributions in memory of Mary may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Arbutus Manor, Classic Care and Dr. Lorna Sent.
