EDITH MURIEL PARKER (nee DODGE) Edith Muriel Parker (nee Dodge) passed away peacefully and serenely on Friday, February 8, 2002 at Virden District Hospital, Virden, MB. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her husband Max; son Brian (Gail) of Carman and their daughter Marnie (Brian) Foreman and great-grandchildren, Madison and Braydon of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Isobel Dodge; her brothers, Harold, Myles, Roy and her twin Lloyd. Muriel was born in Holland, MB on November 10, 1910. She taught school in Cardale from 1930 - 1938. On July 2, 1938 she married Max and they moved to Elm Creek to teach until 1948 when they moved to Treherne. In 1965 they moved to Virden where Muriel taught in the junior high school until she retired in 1971. She was keenly devoted to church and community activities wherever she lived. In retirement, she enjoyed making countless new friends for 14 winters in Mesa, AZ. Mom will be sadly missed by her many friends and her loving family. A memorial service was held in St. Pauls United Church, Virden at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, with Rev. Brenda I. Ferguson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Muriels memory may be made to the charity of your choice. G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel Ltd., Virden, Manitoba, in care of the arrangements.
