EVELYN FLYNN With sad and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Surrounded by her loving family Evelyn Flynn passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2002. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 1:30 p.m., at the Omega Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. Evelyn was born June 23, 1922 in Portage la Prairie to Bruce and Margaret Williams. The family farmed in the Portage Creek area, where Evelyn was raised and received her education. Evelyn and her first husband Charles Flynn farmed successfully and raised their three children in the Flee Island District. She worked alongside her husband and in community endeavours for over 20 years. Following Charlies passing, Evelyn returned to working outside her home, where she was employed at the Lo Cost Drug Mart until her retirement in 1983. Remarrying in 1978, she and Charlie Grauls enjoyed life in High Bluff. Travelling to visit family and games of golf were two of their favourite pastimes. While they were enjoying their retirement years, Evelyn still maintained an interest in the family farm. Evelyn had many interests - her swimming club, reading, crosswords, needlework and gardening. Her greatest enjoyments were in her home where gatherings with friends and family - especially her grandchildren, were her most cherished times. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her husband Charlie Grauls; her son Morley and Colleen Flynn and their children, Kali and Boone (Grams Little Miracle) of Portage; her daughter Lynda and John MacNaughton and their children, Bob and Kara of Airdrie, AB; her daughter Deanna and Bernie Roy and their children, Charles and Marc of Winnipeg; her brother Wallace and Dorothy Williams of Portage; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her special daughter Liz Owens of Edmonton, AB. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Catherine Newham - Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Cres., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1A7. The Omega Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Friends may leave a message and sign the register book at our web site www.legacy.com "Where life stories live on."
