Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH WANAMAKER June 10, 1910 - February 19, 2002 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at the age of 91, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. He was predeceased by his son Ken and his sisters, Lizzy and Katy. Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean; daughter Shirley (Edward) daughter-in-law Carol; grandchildren, Darlene (Ralph), Daryl (Marita), Dale (Lori), Darren (Chantal), Debbie (Mike) great-grandchildren, Kristyn, Tristan, Cameron and Allie; special niece Barbie; niece Joan; nephews, Joe, Norman, Terry and Dennis. Joe emigrated to Canada in 1928 from Yugoslavia. He was a gentle hard-working man who worked various jobs in Northern Ontario where he met and married his wife Jean in 1938. Thy moved to Winnipeg in 1940 where he worked for Pepsi for many years before retiring in 1975. A gathering in his memory will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Kalyniuk, Darren Kalyniuk, Daryl Wanamaker, Ralph Pottinger, Joe Schaab, Rick Pratchler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of choice. Special thanks to Barbie and Lorraine for all their help, also to Dr. Jennifer Wiebe and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and care, and to his home care workers for their loving care.
