Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY MURRAY DAVIE 1922 - 2002 It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Davie announces his passing on February 12, 2002 in Brandon Hospital after a brief illness. Roy is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Margie (Bill) Johnson, Lynn (Jack) Elliott, Charlotte (Jim) Evanyshyn; his son Lawson (Bev) Davie; his 11 grandchildren, Jason, Kristjan, Trisha, Nadine, Mark, Michael, Roy, Cory, Scott, Erin, Jennifer and his great-grandchildren, Zachry, Keenan and Deshonn. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Bill and May Davie; brothers, Leslie, Bill Jr. and sister Aimee. He attended Hallboro and Dumfries schools and farmed in that area. He married Barbara Fraser in 1956 and they farmed together until 1980 when his son, Lawson took over the farm. Roy and Barb moved to Neepawa but he continued to farm with Lawson up until the present day. Roy was an avid sportsman and played baseball with the Neepawa Farmers for many years, coached the Farmers for two years, then minor ball for ten years and was a life member of the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. His family has the distinction of participating on Manitoba baseball championship teams for three generations and CBC produced a documentary on Roy, son Lawson and grandson Scott. Roy bowled five and ten pin for over 30 years playing in tournaments throughout Manitoba and the United States. He drove a school bus for the Beautiful Plains Division for 15 years, retiring in 1986. Roys greatest love was his wife and family. He attended most of the hockey and baseball games including other events that his grandchildren participated in and was happiest at family gatherings. Everyone was welcome in his home and he did not have a bad word for anyone. His family and friends will miss him and love him always. A memorial service was held on February 14, 2002 in Neepawa United Church. In lieu of flowers, friends who so desire may make donations to the Parkinson Society (Manitoba Region), Suite 204 - 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5. Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa in care of arrangements.
