DOWLING On Friday, March 1, 2002 at Sunnybrook Health Centre, from complications of prostate cancer, in his 86th year and 69th year of religious life. Father Dowling, son of the late Michael Dowling and Anna Mary Baumgartl, is survived by his brother Robert of Castro Valley, CA, and by his sister Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald of Halifax. Father spent most of his religious life in administration and leadership in the Society of Jesus, also serving as Chaplain for many convents of Religious Sisters. He was also archivist for the Jesuits, and a Judge at the Regional Marriage Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Toronto. He was the treasurer of Regis College from 1980 to 1985. Friends may call at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St. (south of Wellesley), Toronto, ON from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3 and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 4. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 4 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sherbourne Street at Earl Street. Burial at the Jesuit Cemetery, Ignatius College, Guelph, ON at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5. In memory of Farther, donations may be made to the Edward J. Dowling S.J.
