LEONARD NOWOSAD On Wednesday, February 27, 2002, Leonard Nowosad peacefully passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital, in Winnipeg, aged 62 years, formerly of Oakburn, MB. Predeceased by his father Michael Nowosad on this same day, 33 years ago, Leonard is survived by his wife Eva; daughter Marnie and fiance Jason Dyck; son Ian and wife Nicole; his mother Nellie; sister Leona and husband Lorne Mackedenski and brothers; Orest and wife Sylvia and Mel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In leaving home, Len came to Winnipeg which he has called his home until his demise. Initially he had worked at Veedol Oil Co. Ltd. and soon thereafter took up trucking, delivering dangerous fuels for companies like, Domo Gas, Pauls Hauling, Trimac and lastly Rehill Transport when he suffered his first stroke in March 1993 and was no longer able to work. Leonard was a strong man with a giving heart. He always helped out when called upon. He survived his stroke and took on a new life. He lived it to the best of his ability with help and braved each day and all it brought. His favourite line became, "Ive been through worse" and this line always gave us comfort in knowing that he would come through another struggle and life would go on. But this time you have taken a new highway, one unknown to you, a gentler and softer road to a new place, a journey more peaceful and with less effort to travel. You were always brave and fought the fight, but no more, may you rest in peace. You have done your work and even on your last days as a dad, have kept this little family together and as we know, God never closes a door without opening another. May He keep you close always as we will too, in our hearts and memories. Friends may pay their last respects on Sunday, March 3 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4 at 11:30 a.m. also at the Knysh Chapel. Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Leonards memory be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 1020 MAIN STREET 582-0973
