JEAN SEATTER RENDALL ARMSTRONG (nee STOUT) Our beloved mother and friend to all, Jean Armstrong, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 4, 2002 at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre after a brief illness. Left to mourn her passing are her son Robert and his wife Heather Armstrong; two daughters, Belva Ferley and Anne Yaciuk; her five grandchildren, Ian, Grant, Michael, Janette (husband Matt) and Dana. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Stout (wife Doris) her niece Eleanor Goffard (Martin) several nieces and nephews and other close family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred John; her two sons-in-law, Dr. Gordon Yaciuk and George Ferley; her brothers, Jim and Donald; sisters, Bessie Stonehouse (Oliver), Margaret Clarke (Leonard). Jean was born in Roseisle, MB, on January 3, 1912 and grew up in the Carman area. She moved to Winnipeg at the age of 15 and has resided here since. Mom was married in 1944; Mom and Dad raised their family in St. Charles, MB. Mom was an active member of St. Charles United Church. She was a nursery school teacher, a U.C.W. member and also served on its board and served in many other capacities for over 50 years. She babysat several children over the years and faithfully visited those ill or in hospital. She was close to her children, grandchildren and her extended family and friends. Funeral service for Jean Armstrong will be conducted on Thursday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., Winnipeg, MB. Viewing will be a half hour prior to service. The service will terminate at the chapel. Rev. George Davidson will be officiating. The family extends warmest appreciation to all staff at the Health Sciences Centre and particularly to the caring staff at Arlington Haus where Mom has resided for the past two years. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Charles United Church Memorial Fund, c/o Ms. Vera Hedges, 816 Isbister St. Winnipeg, MB, R2Y 1R4, may be made.
