He was predeceased by his father William Tardiff; sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Richard Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Germaine and Leon Berthelette; and sister-in-law Kay Tardiff. He was born on January 22, 1928 in South Junction, MB. He was employed at the Abitibi Paper Company as a papermaker, retiring in 1988. In past years he served his community as both a school trustee and a town counselor. He also volunteered endless hours at the recreation center, golf course and curling club. These volunteer contributions were recognized in 1979 when he was honored as the Recreational Volunteer of the Year. He was again recognized in 1993 with an Honorary Life Membership at the Pine Falls Curling Club. He lived life to the fullest, never sitting still for a minute. His favorite pastimes included curling and golfing. We will always remember how his smile brought a ray of sunshine to all he knew. No amount of suffering could fade away that smile. At his request, cremation has taken place. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame du Laus church in Powerview. Funeral mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Father Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Lavallee, Bob Seguin, Jim Deluca, Billy Earle, Kenny Cyr and Fritz Kemball. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hussain, Dr. Oelofse, and the caring nursing staff at the Selkirk Hospital and the Pine Falls Health Complex.
