Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN BRENDA WIKLUND On March 5, 2002, Joan Wiklund passed away at the Grace Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 45 years old. Joan leaves to mourn her father Roy and step-mother Joan, five brothers and 11 nieces and nephews. Bruce (Linda) of Boise, ID, and Alana and Adriane. Ray (Renee) of Nassau, Bahamas and Raynor and Rachel. Gerald (Jan) of Mississauga, ON and Lisa. Ron (Kris) of Sudbury, ON and Lena and Jenna. Ken (Karen) of Kelowna, BC and Ashton, Erika, Colton and Kirsten. Joan will also be remembered by three step-sisters and two step-brothers. Susan Williams, Coquitlam, BC, Tesia (Curtis) Brooks-Turczak of Winnipeg, Mary (Doug) Wilson of Winnipeg, Steve (Anne) Williams of Flin Flon and Scott Williams of Kenora. Joan was predeceased by her mother Lily, two uncles and five aunts. Joan was born in Winnipeg on September 28, 1956. She grew up in Charleswood attending elementary school there and then attended Sturgeon Creek High School where she took jewelry arts. She spent some time in Vancouver where she worked as a goldsmith and created some beautiful jewelry. Her later years were spent in Winnipeg. She was enjoying volunteer work at the Food Bank but was unable to continue because of her illness. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0S2. Cremation had taken place and a memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception room at the chapel.
