CECILIA GARAND (nee SITAR) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cecilia Garand on March 7, 2002 at the age of 72 years. Surviving are her daughters, Gail Garand of Toronto, Joanne Jeanson (Claude) of Oshawa; and her son Robert Garand (Lesley) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristine, Alexander, Rylan and Dustin, who will miss her dearly and whom she loved very much. She also leaves behind sister Joan Sitar; brothers, Ted, George and Casey. She was predeceased by her husband Yves Garand of Ottawa. Cecilia was raised on the farm in Elma, MB. She traveled extensively with her husband Yves, a member of the Armed Forces, starting a family and living in Germany and Ontario. After Yvess passing, Cecilia settled down in St. Vital to raise her children. Service of remembrance will be held on Monday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecilias memory to Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
