HEINRICH "HENRY" STARK Peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2002 at the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, Henry passed away at the age of 87 years. Henry was born September 28, 1914 in Ridgeville, MB, the fourth oldest son of Anna and Gustav Stark. Henry attended school in the area. Early in life, he relocated to Winnipeg where his first job was delivering bread by horse and cart. On February 14, 1938 Henry married Margaret Elizabeth Morrison in Los Angeles, CA. From 1938 to 1966 Henry worked in the mining industry at Timmons Lake, ON, where he also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies. In 1966 they moved to Butte, MO where Henry was employed at the Kelly Mine until 1967. From 1967-1969, they moved to Portage La Prairie, MB where Henry worked with Royal Lite Service Station. In 1969, they moved to Kelowna, BC where Henry was employed with Derricks Industry Manufacturing and installing kitchen cabinets. Here they purchased their custom built retirement home. Residing in it for only a few months, Margaret suffered a heart attack and passed away April 22, 1977. Henry then retired and moved to Lancaster, MN to be near and assist his sister, Lydia Peterson. In 1981 Henry relocated to Emerson, MB, in 1984 moved to Winnipeg. Henry is survived by one sister Lydia Peterson of Hallock, MN; one brother Elmer (Eva) of Hesperia, CA and sister-in-law Helen Stark of St. Catherines, ON as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also mourning his passing is his special friend Gerdy whom he shared many "good times". He was predeceased by his parents, Gustav (1973) and Anna (1947) a stepmother; one sister Olga Yanke (1958) four brothers, Emil (1977), Herman (1988), William (1993), Ray (2001) and two sisters-in-law, Helen (2000) and Jean (2000). Henry was a member of the Faith Luthern Church, 1311 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB for many years. According to Henrys expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Service in his honour will take place on Friday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will take place at Freidenstal Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dirks and staff of Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2K 3S7 for the expert care to Henry.
