WILLIAM (BILL) JOHN KAVANAGH Peacefully, on March 11, 2002, Dad (Poppa) passed away at the age of 92. Bill leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Bill and Ron (Marlene) grandchildren, Sherri (Glenn), Darren (Kyra), Tara (Dan), Marnie (Russ), Andy; and great-grandchildren, Traiden and Madison. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Pearl; brother Ben; and sisters, Annie and Martha. Born in Ireland, Bill moved to Canada at the age of 18. He settled in St. Vital, opening his electrical business, Kavanagh Electric. Bill enjoyed many years, with family, friends and neighbours, at his Matlock cottage. Pallbearers will be Darren, Marnie and Andy Kavanagh, Glenn Gamble and Tara and Dan Gilkes. The family extends thanks to the staff at Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their care and patience during Dads stay. Services will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated. "Grandpa, Dad, we love you. God wrap your arms around him And show him the way to Heaven and to the peace He so richly deserves." Love family and friends.
