Edith and Donald adopted three children, Blair; Kym and Susan. Edith was predeceased by her son Blair in 1963 as a result of a bicycle accident and Donald succumbed to cancer in 1977. Edith remained in the grocery store for a few years before retiring. Edith was a loving and caring person whos home was always open to friends. She belonged to many organizations over the years and was devoted to her family and grandchildren. Edith was never judging and always offered her support. Edith loved a game of bridge and enjoyed her many Mondays baking bread and buns. She was a brilliant seamstress and once said that she always wanted to be a costume designer for a theatre company. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Mrs. Burgess was very kind to me when I visited Cypress River. She opened her home to me when I'd come to play with Susan. I remember the surprise treat of potato chips from their store for us girls to enjoy. My condolences to Susan and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Arla Cleghorn (childhood friend of Susan) on: Oct 05, 2021
