Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA REIMER Peacefully, on Sunday, March 17, 2002, Linda Reimer met her Lord and Saviour whom she had faithfully served. Linda was born on January 14, 1914 in Steinbach, MB to Klaas and Katherine Reimer. She is survived by brother Clarence (Rose) Reimer of Seattle, WA and sister-in-law Isabel of Steinbach; as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Bill, Ed, Art and Leonard; sisters, Margaret and Emma; sisters-in-law, Catherine, Mary, Aganetha and Bertha and brother-in-law John Penner. Linda graduated as a registered nurse from St. Boniface Hospital in 1936 and for ten years practiced her profession in various communities in Canada and the US. From 1945 to 1951 she served as a missionary nurse in Puerto Rico under Mennonite Missions and in 1953 she pioneered the Panama mission work under the Gospel Missionary Union serving for the next 32 years together with Helen Goertzen, who became her life-long friend and missionary partner. Following retirement, she returned to Panama for three short-term assignments as well as being involved in ministry in Winnipeg with Spanish and Portuguese-speaking Canadians. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg with Rev. Ron Koleba officiating. Viewing will take place Wednesday, March 20 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) and at the church prior to the service. The family expresses its sincere appreciation to the staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for the wonderful care Linda received as well as to Helen for her love and devoted attention to Linda.
