KATHARINA GAGALUK On March 18, 2002, Katharina Gagaluk died suddenly at the Poseidon Nursing Home at the age of 97. She was born April 3, 1904, the last pioneer of the Broad Valley district where she lived and toiled most of her life until 1990, then resided at the Canadian Polish Manor till January 2002 followed by the Poseidon Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Lucia Zembik. Predeceased by her husband Steve on March 12, 1988; and her brothers, John, Elias, Albert; and her sisters, Mary, Stocki, Helen Schurko, Rose Dudar and Elizabeth Lizanski; also by her granddaughter Shelley Haining, June 9, 1995. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Nellie Kostyniuk, Ollie Olinyk, Jean Nero, Ann Haining, Verna Kowaski (Stan) and son Walter (Josie) 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. We wish to thank the staff of the third floor of Poseidon Nursing Home for her care. A service and viewing will take place 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at Broad Valley Hall, with Fr. David Kowalski officiating. Interment to follow at Broad Valley Cemetery. Eulogy by Michael Gagaluk, hymns by Lori Gagaluk and family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Danny, Ronnie and Brian Gagaluk, Jim Olinyk, Phillip and Kenneth Nero. To every purpose there is a season and time, To every purpose under the heaven.
