Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD HOLMES 1902 - 2002 Edward passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 99 years. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Elsie in 1998; and his daughter, Kathleen in 1995. He is survived by his son-in-law, Jack Smith; grandchildren, Kevin (Anita) and Lori (Ross) great-grandchildren, Brent and Abbey; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Edward came to Canada in 1914 and served in the Second World War with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. Throughout his life he remained active with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the Salvation Army and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 4. His working career spanned over 48 years with Eatons in various capacities. He will be remembered for his love of music that was enhanced as a member of the Salvation Army Band. He also enjoyed golfing, lawn bowling and winter cruises. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
