Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDREE GENEVIEVE RIPERT "COCO" (nee de DENUS) Peacefully at home on Monday, March 18, 2002 at the age of 87 years. Coco is survived by her husband Fortune after 60 years of marriage. She also leaves to mourn, daughters, Rosamond De Smet (Henri) and Yvette Spence (Gordon) son Raymond (Linda) grandchildren, Daniel, Jocelyne and Natalie De Smet and Graham Spence. Coco was born February 3, 1915 to William de Denus and Marie-Estelle Lamblin at Vannes (Eriksdale), MB. Having lost her mother at an early age, she came to Winnipeg to live with her Aunt Yvette and Grandmother de Denus. After attending St. Marys School, she worked as a hostess at the Marlborough Hotel. She married Fortune Ripert on August 4, 1941 in Hamilton, ON. They moved to Winnipeg in 1943 and settled on the farm at Lot 11 McPhillips until 1960 at which time, they moved to Fort Garry. Mom loved to garden and firmly believed that nutritious food provided a solid foundation for good health. Her vast collection of recipes was shared with many. In later years, she enjoyed many summers at the cottage at Patricia Beach. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Visitation one-half hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
