Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY AGNES SHEPPARD March 26, 1909 - March 19, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother, on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at the Grace Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She will be forever cherished and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren and their spouses, and her great-grandchildren. Son John and daughter-in-law Linda Sheppard; grandchildren, Rob and Michelle Cooke, James Sheppard and Jayne Bingler and great-granddaughter Katie Cooke, all of Toronto; daughter Sandra and son-in-law Doug McLuckie, grandson Todd and Wendy McLuckie, and great-grandsons, Eric and Tyler McLuckie; daughter Barbara and son-in-law Ken Adams; and daughter Nancy and son-in-law Dennis Wonnick; all of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Corbett in 1981; also her siblings, Allan Todd, Kay Bardal and Evelyn Rogers. She is survived by one sister Muriel Burr. Mom was the consummate loving wife and mother who devoted her entire life to her family. She was an elegant lady with style, grace and dignity. In the face of many adversities in her later years, she deserved our esteem for her perseverance, resilience and strength. She has been a wonderful role model. Her happiest times were spent at the lake. In the early years, when her family was quite young, many happy summers were enjoyed at Granite Lake, ON. These special times became defining moments for our family that will never be forgotten. In her latter years, she continued to enjoy happy family times at Lake of the Woods with family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Our happy memories of the wonderful times we shared, will forever warm our hearts and bring a smile to our faces. The family wishes to express their gratitude and sincere thanks to her Oakview Avenue neighbours, especially Al and Dorothy Henning, who so willingly assisted Mom, and made it possible for her to remain in her own home until December 1999. Special thanks also to Beth and Terry, who helped mom in so many special ways. Thanks also to all her caregivers at Tuxedo Villa, especially Leony. The care and compassion shown to our mother is most appreciated. We are also most thankful and appreciative to the wonderful nurses at the Grace Hospital in Emergency and on 3 North. Our most sincere gratitude to Trina, Val and Joanne who went above and beyond the call of duty in caring for our mother and helped us through an extremely difficult period. A Service of Remembrance to celebrate and give thanks for her life will be held in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway on Monday, March 25 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Anne Duncan will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J2 "Her Journeys Just Begun" (E. Brenneman) Dont think of her as gone away her journeys just begun life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years, Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched . . For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
