Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR FENWICK 1923 - 2002 Peacefully on March 19, 2002, following a short illness. He is survived by his sons, Ron, Don and David; daughter-in-law Louise and granddaughter Taryn; as well as his sister Isabelle Mason, extended family and special friends Baxter Topham-Pitt, Andre Ferreira, George Lee, Cay Jorundson and Karen Proctor. Arthur was predeceased by his loving wife Irene, his son Douglas and his brother Ernie. Arthur was born and lived in Winnipeg until enlisting in the Royal Canadian Navy during Second World War. Following the war, he married Irene and studied at the Haileybury School of Mines. They moved to Flin Flon in 1947 where they established roots and raised their family. He worked at the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Company until his retirement in 1987. He served with the 21st Field Squadron, Royal Canadian Engineers, where he was recognized with the appointment as Honorary Colonel. He also served as Commanding Officer of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps for several years. In 1988 Art and Irene returned to Winnipeg to be closer to family and friends of long standing. Arthur will be remembered by all who knew him for his strong commitment and pride in family and friends; his quiet reserved good nature; and his dry, subtle wit. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation in appreciation of the excellent care provided to both Art and Irene in their last years.
