Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN SAMUEL FOX 1916 - 2002 Peacefully, on Tuesday March 19, 2002, at Deer Lodge Centre, John (Jack) Fox passed away at the age of 85 years to join his beloved wife Muriel. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cameron Fox, Carol (Walter) Wulff, Gregg (Cindy) Fox and his youngest, Sherri (Randy) Glazier. Jack also leaves behind five grandchildren, John, Alicia, Katherine, Colin and Ryan. He was looking forward to the arrival of his sixth grandchild this summer. One of ten children, Jack was born and raised in Carman, MB, and is predeceased by all but one of his siblings, a sister, Dorothy (Gordon) Friedrich of Marshall, SK. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Dorthia Fox, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jacks life took a turn when he enlisted for duty in the Second World War. He was awarded the Bronze Oak Leaf Emblem for bravery after he put himself in peril to save others. He sustained injuries that would remain with him for the rest of his life. Jack returned to Carman to marry Muriel, and start a family. They settled into a home in St. James (Winnipeg) and Jack provided for them well as a journeyman electrician. Jack and Muriel did everything together and especially enjoyed travelling, dancing, the horse races, and winning at cards. He was distraught at his wifes sudden death in 1994 and we know he is happy to finally be reunited with her. Jack was a kind and generous person as well as a devoted husband and father. He has earned his rest. Special thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre "T5" for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0L3. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
