MAUREEN DITCHFIELD (nee WATSON) Peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, Maureen passed away after a long courageous battle. Left to cherish her memory, her loving husband Lloyd of 43 years, the care and love that Dad showed Mom throughout her illness, words cannot express how much he loved Mom; daughter Kelly (Jerry) Dube; sons, Gregg, Glenn (Dawn) grand-children, Miguel, Natia, Erik, Trevor, Cory, Ryan, Joel, Brant; and her mother Edith Watson; as well as Lloyds brothers, sister, numerous family and friends. Maureen was born in Winnipeg, June 29, 1940. She spent most of her childhood at the farm in Mulvihill, MB, with her Uncle Henry and Aunty Terry, later coming to school in Winnipeg. She married Lloyd, April 4, 1959 and they raised three children on Harrowby St. in St. Vital. She later worked at Halifax Insurance, Canadian Tire, A & P, Payfair, Family Fare and Hulls Foods, and many devoted hours at "the lot" of L&M Ditchfield on Sturgeon Rd., their land-scaping business. They settled in Komarno, MB. Maureen was a devoted mother and wife, always putting her family before her own needs. She carried us through all our ups and downs, encouraging us to be our own person and always follow our dreams. Friends could count on Maureen to always be true, never forgetting anyone. She was a pillar of strength. She had a sense of humour that was inspiring, a laughter that was contagious. We wish to give a warm thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hunter Memorial Hospital. A special thank you to the devoted home care staff of the Interlake Region. With respect to Maureens wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Mom, your spirit will be with all of us always.
