WELDON C. REID Weldon C. Reid of White Rock, BC, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on March 6, 2002 at the age of 86. Weldon is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth M. Reid; and their four sons, Mark, Paul, Alan, and John. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held March 15, 2002 in White Rock, BC. Weldon worked for MacMillan Bloedel for almost 40 years in lumber sales. This includes 20 years in the Winnipeg office. During the Second World War, Weldon served his country as a pilot in the R.C.A.F. He flew a number of famous aircraft, most notably, the De Haviland Mosquito. After retiring, Weldon and Ruth moved to White Rock in 1978. Weldon soon purchased an ultralight aircraft and went back to the flying that he loved. He also enjoyed building grandfather clocks, made entirely of wood, gears and all. These intricate clocks all worked and kept good time. Weldon will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him, including his friends in the Saint John Brebeuf Bowling League in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may donate to the charity of their choice.
