BEN RUBIN Peacefully, on March 22, Ben Rubin passed away at 90 years of age. Benny was predeceased by his mother Dora and father Moshe Rubanenko; brothers, Ziggy and Henry; brother-in-law Max Minuk and sister-in-law Milly Rubin. Benny is survived by his sister Edith Minuk; sister-in-law Ann Rubin; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. During the post war years, Benny worked for Famous Players Theatres as a graphic artist. Thereafter, he assisted his brother, Henry, at Graham Furniture. Benny will be remembered for his talent as a portrait artist, and his many paintings will serve as a lasting legacy. However, he will best be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. Contributions in Bennys memory may be made to the Benny Rubin Memorial Fund for Artistic Talent c/o the Gray Academy of Jewish Education, 123 Doncaster St., Winnipeg, MB, R3N 2B4.
