MARY EMILY CREEK (CARRETTE) On Sunday, March 24, 2002 after a very courageous fight with cancer, the Lord lifted Mary into His arms and carried her Home. Mary was born on November 20, 1948. She grew up surrounded by a loving and devoted family on a farm in Prairie Grove, MB. While waitressing at Deacons she met Ron Creek. They began dating and in 1972, fell in love and started a family with each other shortly after. Marys family and friends meant the world to her. She spent her entire life taking care of everyone around her. Her unboundless spirit and endless heart made her many lasting friendships. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Edward, 1974; brother Joseph, 1979; father Julien, 1986, sister-in-law Eileen, 1990, brother-in-law John, 1992; mother-in-law Elizabeth, 1998, brother Gerard, 2001, sister-in-law Leigh-Ann, 2001, and the love of her life Ron in February of 2001. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother Elizabeth, daughters, Jerrie Mae and husband Darren Shalley, and Cynthia Dawn; sisters, Bernadine (Fritz) Hanssen, Alice Carrette (Ken Check), and Liz (Troy) Osterlund; brothers, Don (Sharon) Carrette, Neil (Paulette) Carrette, and Jim (Jodi) Carrette; brothers-in-law, Don (Violet) Creek, and Les (Dorothy) Creek; as well as numerous and very special nieces, nephews, and close friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing at 9:30 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined, if you so desire, please make a donation tot he Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
