Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPHINE ROSEMARIE YOUNG (PETRONI) September 12, 1917 - March 28, 2002 With great sorrow the family of Josephine Rosemarie Young is announcing her passing. With family by her side, peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2002 our beloved Mother and Grandmother left us to join the love of her life, Roy. Josephine know by all as Jo was born and raised in Winnipeg, married Roy in 1940 and together raised their five children. Jo will be greatly missed by her children, Allan and wife Frances, Jim and wife Peggy, Joanne and husband Rick Richter, Ron and wife Shirley, and Connie with husband Ray Starr. Jo was also the proud mother and grandmother to 16 grand-children and seven great-grandchildren. Jo is survived by her two sisters, Angela Lake and Mary Duff, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jo was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1996, and earlier by her brothers, Sam and Mike and sisters, Rose and Julia. Jo was employed with a local printing and publishing company till she retired in the 1960s. While working and bringing up her young family, Jo was an active community member. Jo was the President of West End Memorial Community Club for many years. Jo loved to dance, but her favourite sport was bowling and we have been left with boxes of trophies. Later in her life, Jo was still working in her community as an active member of the Canadian Order of Foresters. In 1986, Jo was honoured by being named The Canadian Order of Foresters Woman of the Year. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care given to our mother by the staff of the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. A funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Tuesday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Henry Schultz officiating. Cremation will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, contributions may be made in Jos memory to a charity of ones choice. Our Mother will be sadly missed by her family and numerous friends. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
