MORLEY M. SHEPS Morley Sheps passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 83. He was born on June 22, 1918 to Ben and Rose Sheps (nee Yaffe). Morley was one of four sons and was predeceased by his brothers Sammy, Jack and Phillip. On January 1, 1941, Morley married Sylvia Asrican and they shared 51 happy and healthy years together until her passing in December of 1992. They had two children, Richard and Ros-lynn. In 1943 they moved to Vancouver where their son Richard was born. At that time Morley worked for the Boeing Aircraft Co. They returned to Winnipeg in 1949, where their daughter Ros-lynn was born. Morley worked for the family business, Sheps Agencies for a short while and later began his next career in the automotive industry. In 1968 he became a manufacturers agent and worked actively in that field until as recently as November of 2001. Morley is survived by his son Richard and grandchildren Stephen and Braden of Edmonton and his daughter Ros-lynn and son-in-law Myron Calof and their children Joelle and Justin of Vancouver and several loving nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Hong Kong. Morley will always be remembered for his smile, his stories and jokes, his colourful attire and his undying optimism under any circumstances. The funeral was held at the Rosh Pina Synagogue Memorial Park on Sunday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. The pallbearers were son-in-law Myron Calof, good friend Morley Golden, nephews Michael and Sam Sheps, nephew David Singer and his great-nephew Jeffrey Singer. The Family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the intensive care and 5th floor staff at the Victoria General Hospital and to Dr. Arthur Blank for their devoted care.
