Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMY J. ROST Peacefully at River East Personal Care Home on March 31, 2002, after a lengthy illness, Amy Rost (Peggy), beloved wife of the late Howard Rost, passed away with her family by her side. Amy was born June 23, 1914, in Yorkton, SK, and moved to Winnipeg at an early age. She married her husband Howard November 5, 1938, and they lived happily together until he passed away in 1985. She was also predeceased by her brother Norman Medlicott and her sister Hannah Young. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Gordon and daughter-in-law Janis; her grandson Glenn and his wife Ember; her great-grandson Colton; her step grandson Kyle, all of Winnipeg, and her sister Edie Medlicott of Calgary. Throughout her life Amy was a kind and gentle lady, a caring wife, and a most nurturing mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; quiet times reading, daily walks in her Elmwood neighbourhood, and summer camping at West Hawk Lake trailer village with her family. In 1995 Mom moved to River East and this became her new home. Here she made new friends with the staff and volunteers and was lovingly cared for by them all. Our family extends to all the wonderful people at River East our greatest thanks and appreciation. Amy became known here for her happy smiling face and for her enormous stuffed animal collection which brought her countless hours of pleasure to pass the time. Honouring our mothers wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Private interment in the family plot will take place. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember her life may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2T4. "You always did your best, your heart was true and tender, you lived your life for those you loved, and those you loved will remember." Until we meet again, we love you Mom.
