EDWARD (TED) MUELLER 1922 - 2002 Following a lengthy illness, Ted passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at the age of 79 with his loving wife Bernice by his side. Ted was born on July 20, 1922 in Winnipeg to Jacob and Caroline Mueller. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Gert, Connie and Florence; brother John; mother-in-law Vera Holmberg; father-in-law Jack Holmberg and nephew Allan Holmberg. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Bernice; brothers-in-law, Keith (Doreen) Holmberg, Marvin (Mary) Holmberg; nieces, Shirley (Stan) Mulvey, Sylvia (Dave) Elliott, Dorothy Morris as well as numerous grandnieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Ted served in the air force during the Second World War from 1941 - 1946. Following his return to Winnipeg he worked for Dominion Bridge for one year before starting with MTS in 1948. Ted eventually worked his way to Operations Manager at MTS, responsible for construction and equipment installation. Following his retirement in 1987 he remained active with the MTS Pioneers, acting as coordinator in 1972 - 1973, as well as delivering new vehicles to various MTS locations throughout the province. He was also past president of the St. Boniface Chamber of Commerce. Since 1959, Ted thoroughly enjoyed the time spent at the family cottage at Sandy Hook. He also enjoyed the winter trips to Hawaii. He will be fondly remembered as the ideal host as his door was always open to family and friends. His wonderful sense of humour has resulted in numerous smiles and his kind heart has touched many lives. A special part of Teds heart was devoted to his special pets, Casey, Sheba, Spots and Sam. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to Terry and Jim for the very special care provided. Also to Palliative Care and the Doctors and Nurses of St. Boniface Hospital for their dedication. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Father Gerald Michaud officiating. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teds memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB., R2L 1X3.
