Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS TAYLOR (nee SEED) On Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital, Winnipeg, Doris Taylor, aged 87 years, beloved wife of Bill Taylor of Stonewall. Born April 10, 1914 in Stonewall, Doris had lived in Stonewall all her life. She was the Secretary-Treasurer for the Town of Stonewall for 27 years, retiring in 1979. Doris was a lifelong member of the Church of the Ascension, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and was a member of the ACW. Doris loved music, playing the violin, playing bridge, golfing, painting, reading and knitting. Doris enjoyed travelling and was able to take many trips, cruises and bus tours. Doris was the recipient of the Governor Generals Medal for General Proficiency in grade 11 at Stonewall College in 1931. At a presentation in the Parochial Hall in 1979 Doris was presented with a Buffalo Plaque from the Minister of Municipal and Urban Affairs from the Province of Manitoba and at the same time was honoured by the Town of Stonewall upon her retirement. Doris was a very loving person. Surviving besides her husband Bill, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Bill Seed, Bob Cleland; sisters, Muriel Lamb, Vera Cleland, Kay Cleland. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of the Ascension, Stonewall. Rev. Ken Garrity will officiate. The service will conclude at the church, with cremation to follow. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the New Church Hall Building Fund.
