ALEXANDER McKAY 1912 - 2002 Surrounded by his family on Friday, April 5, 2002 at his residence in St. Laurent, MB, Alexander McKay passed away at the age of 90 years. Alex will be lovingly remembered by his children, Peter, Genevieve (Norman Flamand), Alfred (Blanche), Cyril (May), Pierrette (Henry Carriere), Tobie (Dawn), Wanda (Stan Grabowski), Theresa (Gilbert Carriere), Leonard (Hilda), Brian (Susan) 45 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his loving wife Rose in 1968; his daughter Cecile Piche in 1987; son-in-law Baptiste Piche in 1999; and three great-grandchildren. Alex grew up on a farm in St. Laurent where he met and fell in love with his wife Rose. They married on October 3, 1939. Their pride and joy were their 10 children and many grandchildren. Prayers will be held at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church Wednesday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. Father Ernest M. Kamath and Father Guy Lavallee will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial at a later date. Lunch to follow. Pallbearers will be his six sons, Peter, Alfred, Cyril, Tobie, Leonard and Brian. The family wishes to thank Dr. Burnette, Dr. Tiedt, the staff at Eriksdale Hospital, Home Care for all of their help and support at this time.
