DOREEN MARY PATERSON Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital on April 5, 2002 after a lengthy battle with cancer, Doreen Paterson of Ashern, MB passed away at the age of 71 years. Doreen was born May 2, 1930 in Pine Falls, MB, and raised in Gypsumville, MB. At the age of 13 years, she went to work for Eatons in Winnipeg. Doreen worked on the railroad going to Churchill as a cooks helper and also at the dry cleaners in the Gypsumville Hospital. Doreen was also a nanny for a few years. Mom loved her flowers and gardening. Before her illness she enjoyed bingo, doing puzzles, crocheting and crosswords. Grateful to share her life is her husband Cliff; and children, daughter Darlene (Bob), grandchildren, Tara, Brian, Katie; son Dwight (Dolly), grandchildren, Vanessa (Robbie), Jody (Mandy) son Ernie; daughter Gwen (Ted), grandchildren, Misty (Leif), Corrine (Gilbert), Chris, and Dennis; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Joyce ONeil, Rhoda Shabaga, her loving friend Joyce Stewart. She was predeceased by a daughter Linda and her mother Rhoda. Doreens children would like to invite friends and family to an informal gathering to celebrate her life on Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ashern Legion Hall.
