Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARENCE LAYTON HOLMES April 16, 1914 - April 8, 2002 Peacefully, on Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Deer Lodge Centre, Layt went to be with his beloved wife Roxie, who predeceased him in 1994, and has been waiting for him with open arms. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Karen Holmes (Dwayne) grandchildren, Glen Sweeting (Lori), Tracy Sweeting, Shelly Sweeting, Suzanne Lira (Joe) and his two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Amanda Lira, who were so special to him. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Dora McLean, Amy Stevenson, and Bertha Holmes; brother-in-law Ben Cooke; plus numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the staff on 3 West and 2 South for the care and compassion shown to Dad, especially to Norine, Erin, Darryl and Jim who are truly Angels of Mercy. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a contribution may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 204 - 825 Sherbrook, R3A 1M5, the Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., R3J 0L3, or to a charity of ones choice. In tears we watched you failing It was hard to let you go But part of us went with you The day God took you home. Sleep well.
