Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA CSAPO (nee NEMETH) May 12, 1912 - April 9, 2002 Peacefully on Tuesday April 9, 2002, Anna Csapo passed away at Golden Links Lodge. Anna was predeceased by her parents; her youngest son Tibi (1969), oldest son Imre (1985) husband Imre (1985) in Komarno, Slovakia and brother Gyula Kaldy (1987) in Farad, Hungary. Anna was born on May 12, 1912 in Farad, Hungary. She worked as a Captain with the Udvhadsereg (Salvation Army) teaching Hungarian youth. In 1958 after the Hungarian revolution, Anna, her husband and two sons immigrated to Winnipeg where she worked at the Misericordia and Grace Hospitals until her retirement. Anna was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed the companionship of her dog "Szultan" and spent many evenings at the ballet and opera. But the untimely death of her children and her husband caused Anna much grief. Although she had lost so much in her life, and faced many hardships, Anna remained strong and independence was always important to her. She was a loyal supporter of the Hungarian United Church, and always volunteered at Folklorama. Anna was very kind and generous with everyone around her. She leaves to mourn her death many relatives in Hungary and Slovakia, including her sisters, Ilona Potyondi, Lina Feher, Roza Ban, sister-in-law Iren Kaldy; goddaughters, Krisztina and Eva. "Annuska" will also be sadly missed by many friends she made in Winnipeg. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge for making her stay there as comfortable as possible. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hungarian United Church, 732 Ellice Ave. Anna will be laid to rest with her two sons in St. Vital Cemetery. Reverend Marton Kerekes will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Jozsef Kovacs, Geza Nagy, Gyula Csaholczi, Sean Daulat, Jozsef Nagy, Zoltan Toth, Karoly Vida and Sandor Toth.
