SARAH MARY BRANDSON (nee GARRIOCH) On Wednesday, April 10, 2002, surrounded by her loved ones Sarah Mary Brandson peacefully passed away. Sarah was predeceased by her mother and father; five brothers and one sister, by her husband Sigurdur; her daughter, Signy Offord; and her grandsons, Ken Holmes and Byron Brandson. She leaves to mourn her brother Herb Garrioch (Marge) her son Melville (Bev) her grandchildren, Kelly Holmes, Keith Offord (Sandra) and their father Bert Offord, and Todd and Cory Brandson and great-granddaughter Holly; as well as many nieces and nephews. She began lifes journey in Kinnesota, MB as the eldest of six brothers and one sister. In her formative years she was the church organist in her community where she came to know God. As a young adult, she left for the city to attend Business College. The early years of her marriage were spent in Chilliwack, BC until her husband departed for the Second World War. She and her husband raised their children, Signy and Melville in Winnipeg. Her husband predeceased her in 1981 and the latter part of her life was spent living in Charleswood. Sarah was an active person who had many interests and talents. She knew the importance of time and hard work. She adored her grandchildren and the company of her many nieces and nephews. Her dependability and steadfastness were admired by many. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Charleswood Care Centre for the kind support provided to Sarah and her family. Services to be held at the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., Assiniboia, on April 15 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larmour of Assiniboia Charleswood Community Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. For now she has gone and I pray dear God for the strength to remember she has not gone far for she is with You and shall remain so forever. She remains within me for we are all in You together.
