JOSEPHINE VERONICA DANZINGER 1911 - 2002 Peacefully, on April 11, 2002 at Fred Douglas Lodge, our mother and grandma, Josephine passed away. Josephine devoted her life and her love to her husband, her three sons and their families, and the people of North Winnipeg. She grew up on Pritchard Avenue, after which she lived over 60 years in the red brick house on the corner of Mountain and Andrews. She was active in the auxiliaries of the former St. Josephs Hospital, the Childrens Hospital and St. Josephs Parish. With her husband she enjoyed and took pride in a home and yard always full bloom with flowers - a tradition she maintained on her own until frailty would no longer allow. Her latest joy was her two new great-granddaughters, Sara and Emily Ann, for whom she always had a ready smile. Josephine was the last remaining member of her own family and was predeceased by her husband Dr. Rudolph L. Danzinger in 1978 and her eldest son Dr. Gordon F. Danzinger in 2002. She will be missed by her sons, Dr. Rudolph G. Danzinger (Frances) of Winnipeg, Leonard A. Danzinger (Lynn) of Penticton, BC; Gordons wife Maureen, seven grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and her nieces and nephews. A quiet memorial mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 355 Andrews St. A private family interment will occur at a later date. Cremation has taken place. The family wish to thank the most competent staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for their friendly, gentle care of Josephine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Josephines name, to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 9Z9. Jo, well miss you!
