Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryASSUNTA IANNONE (nee DiVERITA) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Assunta Iannone, on April 14, 2002. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Antonio; daughter Rose (Rosaria) and husband Rocky (Rocco) Curatolo; son Carmine and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Gina Curatolo, Marisa and husband Mike Johnson, Silvana and husband Mark Hanson, Anthony and Christina Iannone; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Nicholas, Haley, and Julia; her sister Gerardina Tenebruso; and her brother Antonio DiVerita and his wife Fedora; as well as many other family members in the United States and Italy. Assunta was born in Quaglietta, Avellino, Italy, on August 15, 1920. She married Antonio in 1941 and they recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They immigrated to Canada in 1964. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m., also at Holy Rosary, with Fr. Sam Argenziano celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
