FRED MARKO Peacefully, on Monday, April 15, 2002, with his family by his side, our father passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital. He leaves to mourn his daughter Jan Tyler (Sam) sons, Earne Marko (Helen), Russell Marko (Lily), Chris Marko (Mary) daughter Theresa Gunner; sisters, Ann Kaban and Pauline Dowhopoluk both of Winnipeg. Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife Selena Marko; daughter Marie Debenham; brother Pete Marko; mother Catherine Marko; father Michael Marko; brother John Marko and sister Mary Kulbaba. He was born in Hamerlik, MB on March 1, 1914. Fred farmed in Skylake, MB and later worked at Burns Packers, in Long Lac, ON as a logger and at Co-op Implement until his retirement. Special thanks to the Holy Family Nursing Home, 5th Floor and Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th Floor, Unit 1 for their care and compassion shown during his stay. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bannerman at Arlington, with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howie Striowski, Shawn Marko, Bill Semenchuk, Morris Kulbaba, William Dowhopoluk and Dave Kernaghan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Marko, Al Darker and Jeff McCullough. If so desired, donations may be made in Freds memory to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Maintenance Fund, 737 Bannerman Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2X 1J9 or to Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 204 - 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5.
