Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAROLINE LOTTIE MULLER (STRAIN) On April 15, 2002, Lottie Muller passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital at the age of 93. Lottie was born on January 31, 1909 in Austria the second oldest of 14 children. She immigrated to Canada in June 1928, sailing from England to Montreal on the Empress of Scotland, settling in Winnipeg. Her ability to enjoy life and those around her remained undiminished until her passing, despite the pain associated with arthritis. Many summers were spent enjoying her favorite pastimes, fishing, picking blueberries and mushrooms, and gardening. Even in her final years, a variety of plants and flowers adorned her home. Her generosity and kind-hearted nature were valued by all who knew her. No one who came to visit left empty-handed. Family gatherings meant a great deal to her and with her remarkable memory, entertained us as she reminisced about her memorable life. Lottie was predeceased by her first husband Henry Strain, grandson Kevin, son-in-law Rod, second husband Gus and daughter Ruth. Left to cherish her memory are loving daughter Susan, son-in-law Kurt, grandsons, Jim (Lizann), Kent and Bruce (Megan) great-grandchildren, Karen, Sara and Erich and stepson Ron (Judy) and step-granddaughter Karen (Sean). The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Oscar Domke and the Grace Hospital for their excellent care. We especially thank the caring staff of Home Care, as well as her supportive neighbours who made it possible for her to remain independent in her home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R6.
