Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES ERNEST BRIESE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, untimely passing of Jim Briese at his home in Transcona. Jim was born on March 11, 1959 and lived with his family at Birtle, MB and in 1964 moved with his family to the farm at Minnedosa. He attended school at Bethany and Minnedosa. During his school years he enjoyed sports and was particularly enthusiastic about hockey - playing though the minor hockey league and one winter with Strathclair Juniors. In the late 70s he started working for the CPR starting on the gang and later as a heavy duty mechanic at the Weston and Logan shop in Winnipeg where he enjoyed working with his co-workers, and always spoke well of them. He continued there until his death on April 16, 2002. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Ernie and Audrey Briese of Minnedosa; brother Robert of Nelson, ON; and sister Lois Jury of Brandon; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers. Interment of his ashes will be in Neepawa Cemetery, and funeral service will be held in Minnedosa United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 with Rev. Shawn Ankenmann officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Minnedosa Minor Hockey Association, in care of Carol Taylor, Minnedosa, MB, R0J 1E0 or a charity of your choice.
