Beloved husband of the late Hazel (predeceased 1993). Loving father of Anne Zablotski (predeceased 1973), Barbara Mager of Winnipeg (husband Marc), John Kirkland of Whitby (wife Sharon), Mary Lindros of Barrie (husband Paul), Pauline Pryde of Whitby (husband Tom), Shelagh Wright of Pickering (predeceased 1995), Maureen Zavesiczky of Whitby, Martin Kirkland of Stouffville (wife Carol), Kathleen Kirkland of Oakbank, MB, Joseph Kirkland of Whitby (wife Linda), Bernadette Klowak of Winnipeg (husband David). Dear Pop to 32 grandchildren and Great-Pop to 10. Special foster Pop to five. Dear brother of Harry Kirkland (wife Grace) of Southport, England, and was predeceased by brother William Kirkland (wife Winnie) and sister Molly Ponting (husband Arthur) of Liverpool, England. Dear brother-in-law of Alma Summers, Magull, England. Special thanks to the 3rd floor nurses for their wonderful and caring support. Special heartfelt thanks to our familys dear friend and pastor, Rev. N.J. Gignac. Visitation at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E., Oshawa, on Sunday, April 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with prayers at the funeral home Sunday evening. Funeral mass at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 1100 Mary St. N., Oshawa, on Monday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, John would prefer donations to St. Joseph the Worker Parish of Oshawa. He was the most loving and understanding husband and father whose life was exemplified by his strong devotion to his faith.
