AUDREY URWIN LA RUE (nee RITCHIE) April 24, 1926 - April 19, 2002 Audrey, a faithful servant of the Lord, died peacefully in her sleep of pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Minnie Ritchie. She proclaimed her love of God and Gods love of us by her presence and the work she carried out through her Church, the Boy Scouts, the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer, Pastoral Care visiting at the Health Science Centre and the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli and in innumerable quiet, self-giving activities. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Whytewold, MB on Thursday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Johns Cathedral at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Audreys name to The Johnson Memorial Hospital Building Fund, Box 250, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0. Audrey, in her own hand, left the following message for her family and friends: "I want to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and love. I know this outcome is not what we had hoped for but believe me, Jesus was by my side all the way through my illness. I was able to cope when many couldnt and that is Gods help. I hope that my faith will have helped others in some small way. Dont give up praying just because the prayers were not answered the way you or I hoped they would be. Believe me, they were answered in Gods way. Please keep praying. God will help us all through this time and peace will come."
