RICHARD EMOND It is with deep sadness that we announce the accidental death of our dear son, brother, father, and uncle, Richard Emond, aged 33, of St. Laurent, MB. Richard was among three friends on that untimely night, Paul McKay, Craig Boudreau, and Ernest Berens all of St. Laurent. Richard leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his mother Julie Emond (St. Laurent), nine year old son Donovan (St. Laurent), brother Ken Guiboche (Sherryl) with nephews, Tyler and Matthew; and niece Michelle all of Winnipeg; brother Maurice Emond (Karen) and Ashley of St. Laurent; sister Tracy Allard (Jean) and nieces, Lauren and Sarah of Winnipeg. Richard also leaves behind his longtime companion Elaine Boudreau of St. Laurent along with her two daughters, Vanessa and Melissa; along with numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, and a great many friends, both young and old. Uncle "Ritchie" or "Rich" as he was affectionately called always had something witty to say, always made people laugh and you could always hear him when he was laughing. Never one to be down for very long, Richard was quick to put a smile on your face when you were down. He was predeceased by his stepfather Maurice Emond in 1989 and also by his nephew Steven Allard in 1988. Richard was working hard at hardwood flooring with his cousin Jordan, a job he enjoyed doing. Richard had a great love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing whenever he had a chance. Richard was a free spirit who was a friend to all, was always ready to help when it was needed, without needing to be asked or compensated for his time and work. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent. Rev. Fr. E. Kamath will officiate with interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be cousins Claude Normand, Robert Normand, Leonard Normand, Jean Louis Normand, Jordan Guiboche, and brother-in-law Jean Allard. Richard you will be very sadly and dearly missed by all who know and love you especially your family. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a trust fund for his son Donovan in care of the St. Laurent Credit Union, St. Laurent, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
